Yellow is the new pink :)

I have a serious obsession with toddler fashion.  My daughter is my little barbie doll and she does not mind at all.  I will dress here from head to toe in everything matching.  My secret, I intentionally pick out outfits where we both match in some sort of way.  Here's our toddler outfit of the week. :)

I have this new 'thing' for the color yellow.. You'll see what I mean.

Dress: Mudpie
Shoes: Wally World Special (you can find them at Target, too)
Headband: Claire's
Bracelet: Claire's

I'd do my own outfits for you but it's kinda hard to photography myself. haha! You can find that at hisdarlinwife, she has other amazing cute things, too.

Austin - Senior 2014

One thing I enjoy the most is photographing seniors and couples.  Don't get me wrong, I love photographing babies too but they are extremely hard to photograph.  It takes a lot of hard work, practice, and safety to ensure you achieve great pictures while keeping baby safe.  That being said, sticking to big people is more of my 'thang.'

So, yesterday I got to travel to the beautiful city of Natchitoches, La.  If you have never been there, you are missing out on a beautiful town.  If you can't ever make it there, just watch Steel Magnolias.  You'll get a little idea of how gorgeous it is.

I was honored to photograph a graduating senior there yesterday.  I had a blast and she was so easy to work with.  Super photogenic! May I add, she had some gorgeous blue eyes!  Not sure why I'm still talking describing this girl to you... Take a look for yourself! #amazing.  <-- yup! I just hashtagged! :)

See the point I was trying to make?! Sooo incredibly pretty!

Crazy Louisiana Weather

All winter I wished for a White Christmas.  I never got my White Christmas because I, well, live in good ol Louisiana.  My wishful thinking was enough for me though.  I kept telling everyone, it's going to snow.  Of course, I got the most awkward looks and even some laughs.  I just said, you wait and see.  Well, guess what?! Louisiana got SNOW! That's right! It wasn't the like other times.  Falling from the sky but not sticking.  We got 5 inches of snow! Now, you may be thinking, if your a good ol northerner, that isn't anything.. But let me tell you, we were in a state of emergency! Everyone freaked out, schools closed, businesses closed, roads closed.. We had a snow day!! It was amazing! It was so pretty.. Being a photographer at heart.. I bundled up my little pride and joy and we had some snow fun photoshoot!

Yeah, she griped at me the whole time. Mommy, I'm COLD! This resulted in only getting a couple of pictures. But boy was I proud of them.  I haven't got them developed yet but when I do, I'm thinking canvas prints! **Copyright Alicia Warfle Photography**

Not only did I pull my beautiful daughter out.... I even got a picture of my cat! Her name is Delilah. She is quite the weird one.  She is like a dog in a cats body.  She is an inside outside cat. She prefers outside till she gets hungry.. and then, she runs to the door, meows till I let her in, eats, and heads back outside.  She isn't a very good 'hunter' so I guess that is why she has to come home to eat. Here's her picture..

Ok.. So now down to business.. We not only got one beautiful day of snow, we got three! I was about tired of it after day one.  I will say, being from the south, I wanna stay in the south. One day of snow was enough for me for the year! haha! I will visit it all day everyday but you will not take this southern girl out of the south!

Up to date.. Spring is FINALLY here! I could not be more excited to see blooming trees, rays of sunlight, birds chirping and bees buzzing. The pollen though, it has me sneezing, running nose, eyes watering.  I'm not sure if I'm crying or seeing double. haha! But its here! Here we go again, I pull out my daughter again and start snapping pictures.  She is defiantly a goofy goober! She couldn't be serious in front of the camera if I asked her to.  She is defiantly a center of attention, go getter kinda gal!

In case you are wondering, because you're like me, a stay at home mom with a camera.. I use a Nikon D3000, 50mm lens.  Settings were 1.8f and 1/500.  All shot in manual.  I will post about shooting manual another time! In the meantime, Ya'll have a blessed day!

Welcome Home!

Being from a military family, having been a military wife, and now currently a military girlfriend, you learn the struggles of living the military lifestyle.  It is not the easiest job.  It takes a special someone to deal with the long nights apart, the long work days, and the cons of being a strong, supportive person for that service member.

I was given the opportunity to capture the moments of a husband and a daddy coming home from a long nine months in Afghanistan.  Their story was a heartfelt and beautiful one.  These two love birds fell in love and got married.  She was a single mom and he came along and took the reins and became the father to her son and the story continues to get even more beautiful.. She got pregnant!  This time with a little girl.  She had always wanted one and the good Lord above granted that to her.  The sad part, daddy was shipped away for nine months.  Mommy went through this pregnancy, raising a toddler, and going to school all on her own while he was away.  I don't know what else to call that other than she was super woman! He missed the delivery of their baby girl.  It's apart of those sacrifices I was telling you about.  But, never fear, I was there to capture his first glance at his baby girl and boy did it bring tears to my eyes.  I couldn't cry or I wouldn't have been able to capture the special moments.  It was an amazing experience!

I would like you to meet the Coleman family.

Waiting patiently for daddy.

Seeing his son and meeting his daughter for the first time.

Each moment was a beautiful one... This family was a beautiful family!

Welcome HOME Soldier! Thank you for your service!
